Asphalt
Graphene Oxide with Asphalt reduces the aging of asphalt and enhances the mechanical and physicalproperties at both low and high temperatures.
An addition of 0.5% of graphene to asphalt can dramatically increase its performance and lower its impact to the environment.
Graphene in asphalt makes it more sustainable, meaning there is more time between those construction phases on the road.
The use of graphene in small amounts to build highways could have the effect of reducing them by between 25 and 33%. Just a tiny amount of graphene leads to using a third of the asphalt to complete a project.
It also saves on transporting it to a site, installing, curing and
maintaining it. Graphene-infused asphalt has an increased water resistance. And it has the same strength of traditional asphalt while using a third of the material.
The Wave
The introduction of graphene suspensions into the concrete mix allows to increase the concrete strength by almost two - by 150% compressive strength and bending strength by 80%. In this case, the heat capacity of concrete material increases by 90%, and water permeability drops by 400%. At the same time, the service life of concrete products is increased and the mass fraction of cement in concrete production is reduced, which reduces the environmental load on the environment.
